Recent PHD grad wins Canadian Studies Postdoctoral Fellowship

Department of History is delighted to announce that yet another of our doctoral students
has won a Postdoctoral Fellowship, which brings our tally to 4 for this year. Dr. Jennifer Ellison won a two-year Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Centre for Canadian Studies at Mount Allison University to work on a project entitled "Feminist Activism and the Promise of Self- Esteem." Dr. Ellison defended her doctoral dissertation, "Large as Life: Self-Acceptance and the Fat Body in Canada, 1977-2000" in May 2010. She was supervised by Kathryn McPherson.
