***VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY with Aurora Sports Hall of Fame ***

The Aurora Sports Hall of Fame is a celebration of sport history and excellence; dedicated to the recognition of the important place that sport has assumed within the fabric of Aurora.  We are looking for someone to research & organize historic data about Sports History in Canada and also specifically in Aurora.

Position Title:  Moments in Sport Volunteer Researcher
Organization: Aurora Sports Hall of Fame
Volunteer Duration: as early as April 1st to as late as August 30th, 2018
Volunteer Time Commitment: 3-4 hours per week
Location: This position can be worked from student's home using their own computer.

Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Studies in Public History
  • Interest in Sports preferred but not necessary
  • Strong MS and Excel experience
  • Online researching experience preferred

Description: The volunteer would continue the research already begun on our Moments in Sport Research project that identifies and tracks in an Excel spreadsheet:

  • When all sports came to Canada
  • When sports came to Aurora, Ontario
  • Any significant moments in Aurora's Sport History for those sports.

A curator will be available to guide the volunteer once they begin and for the duration of this position
